We Are What We Repeatedly Do

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.” — Aristotle

Take a moment and think about the person you want to become.

Stronger. More confident. More present.
Someone who handles challenges a little better… and keeps showing up.

Now take it one step further.

What does that person actually do each day?

What time do they go to bed?
How do they move their body?
What do they eat?
How do they treat the people around them?
What do they do when things don’t go their way?

It’s easy to think that becoming that person requires some big moment.
A surge of motivation. A major life change. A perfect plan.

But in reality, it’s much simpler than that.

It comes down to decisions.

Small ones. Repeated over time.

Every day, you’re presented with choices. Some obvious, some subtle.
And each one either moves you closer to who you want to become… or further away.

There’s a story I’ve always liked:

A kid says to his dad,
“I feel like I have two lions inside me… a good one and a bad one.”

The dad responds,
“The one that grows is the one you feed.”

It’s simple, but it sticks.

Every action you take is a vote for the person you’re becoming.
Every time you show up when it would be easier not to…
Every time you make a choice that aligns with your goals…

You’re feeding something.

Over time, those small decisions start to compound.
They shape your habits.
Your habits shape your identity.

And eventually, without even realizing it,
you’ve become the person you once imagined.

At Santa Cruz Boxing, this is what we focus on.

Not quick fixes. Not shortcuts.

Just helping people build real habits.
Helping them feel stronger, more capable, and more confident in their everyday lives.

One decision at a time.

We are in your corner. 🥊
