One of the things I love about boxing is that the lessons don’t stay in the gym.
This week, we’re working on head movement. Slipping punches. Rolling with hooks. Learning to bob and weave.
For beginners, it can feel unnatural. Most people want to stand still and brace for impact. But standing still usually isn’t the answer.
You move.
You adjust.
You change angles.
And then you get back to work.
Life seems to work the same way.
We all run into obstacles. Stress. Injuries. Busy schedules. Disappointments. Plans that don’t go the way we expected.
Sometimes we want to attack every problem head-on. Sometimes we freeze and hope it goes away.
But maybe neither is the answer.
Maybe the answer is to keep moving.
Stay relaxed.
Stay focused.
Keep your eyes on the goal and don’t let the obstacle become the focus.
As the saying goes, “Obstacles are what you see when you lose sight of the goal.”
Not every punch needs to be absorbed.
Not every challenge needs to be fought straight on.
Sometimes the best thing you can do is bob and weave.
Adjust.
And keep moving forward.
That’s true in boxing.
And maybe it’s true in life, too.
We are in your corner.
